I keep this on my desk as a fiddle/stress toy, and love it. The finish is attractive and tough enough to take a lot of handling, with two distinct surface the white part is pearlescent and slick, the black part has more of a leathery texture. The whole thing is just soft enough to not do serious damage if it hits something lightly, but still has traditional baseball heft to it.

For whatever reason it has been difficult to find a Los Angeles Angels baseball on the Internet. But finally came across this one, but it said it would take about a month for me to receive it. Franklin Sports MLB Los Angeles Dodgers BaseballNow for my use this item was simply perfect.I did not get it to hit around the yard or play catch with.Realize that must sound crazy to some thinking then why get this.Well my dad was once a HUGE Dodgers fan. I have some amazing memories of him and those games I would watch with him.I have been looking for just the right small little item to place on my mantle alongside his photo.This ball fit that bill perfectly.The colors are nice and bright. The Dodger’s logo is crisp and clean and brings me back to when I was out in CA watching the game.So for me this was a perfect little piece of remembrance.Now would it last long as an actual baseball. I do not think it would take many seasons of being hit and used to still look nice.Might be ok to toss around for catch but not so much for hard daily use. I do not see it lasting under daily wear and tear like a normal baseball. I think it is better as a piece of fan art to sit on a shelf or a desk.

I got 3 of these balls for $7 all Oakland Athletics baseballs. The picture is nothing at all what the ball I received looks like. The green is a different shade the A logo doesn’t have the yellow outline. It looks so plain without the metallic color and the lack of yellow. Which is rather disappointing I really like the appearance of the ball shown in the picture. Other than the appearance not being as described these balls are great my kid doesn’t know the difference. He just knows he got his favorite team’s baseball, so in the end it was a good deal for the price I paid.

Like other people, I suppose, I wasn’t really sure what Softstrike meant. I was looking for a practice ball with my kids, but it doesn’t seem to conform to any standard I’m aware of (it’s not a T-ball, it’s not a Safeball or compression ball, etc).It is in fact a great practice ball for playing a gentle game of catch with my young children, same size as a baseball, about half the weight, reminds me of rubber practice balls we used as kids in between T-ball and real baseball.But even though it says softstrike, I don’t think it’s intended for hitting – I think it would fall apart. It’s great for a gentle game of catch, which is all I really wanted. But it says collectors on it as well. I’m not sure how a fake vinyl baseball for $8 could be considered a decorative or display item. Anyway works fine for my purposes, playing catch with the kids.

This is such a fantastic find for fans both young and old. The appearance is appealing: exact logo (for this Dodgers one), precise stitching, and a spectacular pearl coating. Moreover, it feels great in-hand. It has weight, it is easy to grip, and it has a degree of give (but not enough for it to feel like a child’s toy).Now, for me, I don’t see this as being used for practical reasons. We have tossed this around the house, but I do not envision it withstanding actual use. So, I vote to enjoy it for the cool piece that it is: keep it on the end table and use it as your stress relief during the game. Give it to your hopeful little fan to gently toss about in the house. Or, use it for signature collecting! It will look gorgeous in a small case.The price is great, it looks even better in-person, and it feels outstanding in-hand. As long as you don’t intend on using this on the field, you should be very, very pleased!Highly recommended!

As a die-hard Dodger fan, I love this ball. I love the Dodger Blue and the logo. It looks great for both collectors and players. It’s a soft baseball, so you can feel confident playing with kids 8 and up. If you are a Dodger fan, or know a Dodger fan, then this is a great item.This get 4 our 5 because the smell of the thing was just awful. I don’t know what chemicals or paints went into the production, but mercy its stinky. I’m sure the unpleasant aroma will fade over time, but it definitely detracts from the overall enjoyment.
